NXT Interactive recently delivered a cutting-edge Tangible Touch Table — an experiential installation that blends physical objects with digital content. Instead of traditional touchscreens, this solution allows users to place, move, rotate, or tap physical tokens on a table surface to trigger dynamic digital responses. The result is a seamless fusion of tactile interaction and immersive multimedia, designed to elevate brand storytelling, learning experiences, and product showcases.

Project Objective
The aim of the project was to create an interactive, intuitive and highly engaging platform that:

NXT Interactive designed the Tangible Touch Table as an iconic centrepiece for the client’s space — an installation meant to attract visitors, spark curiosity, and drive deeper understanding.

How It Works: The Technology Behind the Experience
1. Tangible Object Recognition
Each physical token (e.g., pucks, markers, mini objects) carries a unique identifier.
When placed on the table:
The system detects its position
Recognises what token it is
Triggers relevant on-screen content
This could be videos, 3D models, infographics, text, animations, or transitions.
2. Large Multi-Touch Surface
High-resolution interactive table surface supports:
Multi-touch
Multi-user interaction
Smooth gesture-based navigation
Participants can pinch, zoom, drag, rotate and explore in groups.
3. Real-Time Interactive Engine
Built using custom software (e.g., Unity, Unreal, or proprietary engines), the system:
Responds instantly to physical movement
Animates transitions smoothly
Displays layered content interactively
The experience feels fluid, modern, and natural.
